Schindler Announces Successful Nationwide Deployment of Qmarkets Idea Management Platform

Schindler has partnered with idea and innovation management software company Qmarkets to leverage the collective intelligence of their German workforce.

BERLIN, June 7th, 2018 –Schindler, a leading global manufacturer of escalators, elevators, and moving walkways, has invited 4,000 employees from across Germany to participate in a collaborative idea and innovation management process using Qmarkets’ award winning collective intelligence software.

Launched on the 3rdof April, the platform generated an incredible 252 ideas within just over two weeks. This success can be attributed to the promotional efforts of Schindler, who employed a variety of promotional techniques to encourage participation, including newsletters, magazines, flyers, and SMS texts.

Out of the 4,000 users who have been invited to participate, there are many field workers who don’t have regular access to computers. However due to Qmarkets’ responsive mobile interface and dual-login functionality, over 60% of these employees were engaged within the first week.

Schindler’s project team evaluated six different vendors for this initiative, and after undertaking a cost-benefit analysis that compared features, functionality, pricing, and support, Qmarkets’ flagship Q-ideate product was selected for implementation.

Qmarkets’ product replaced a legacy idea management system which was built internally by Schindler over 15 years ago. However, unlike many other German idea management initiatives, Schindler chose to activate commenting and collaboration features to encourage the development of ideas within the system.
