The Intel Business Innovation Team has launched Qmarkets’ award-winning idea management platform to collect innovative ideas and solutions from employees of specific internal business units. So far around 1,300 Intel employees have been invited to participate from two distinct units, the Silicon engineering teams and a manufacturing team.
The platform will be used on an ongoing continuous basis, but the initiative was kicked off on the 20th of July with a four-week ideation event to encourage adoption and engagement. The first two weeks were dedicated to idea submission, collaboration, and discussion, with the second half dedicated to POC (proof of concept) development by the idea submitter. So far users have delivered 246 ideas, 462 comments, and 900+ votes, with those figures forecasted to ramp up significantly in the months ahead.
Fifty years ago, Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore founded Intel ‘to ponder what might be possible’. Today, innovation is still central to Intel’s identity and strategy.
While this initiative is being managed out of Israel, the innovation platform is being used to engage globally distributed employees. Currently, the teams are invited to participate in closed campaigns – with users only seeing the content that is relevant for them. Intel are incentivizing participation by offering cash prizes to users, according to a variety of criteria.
“Qmarkets platform allows configuration of the idea management process tailored to each organization’s unique needs and goals” explained Viki Almog-Ayzenberg, the Business Innovation Manager at Intel. “We’re having a lot of fun, with plenty of engagement on the system so far, and our users keep telling us how straightforward and intuitive the system is.”
Intel’s innovation department are using the flex edition of Qmarkets’ flagship Q-ideate platform, which facilitates ongoing modification to reflect changing objectives using powerful self-admin functionality. The system also offers SSO integration with Microsoft Azure, making it quick and simple for employees to access the system and start submitting ideas.
“We’ve been very satisfied with our experience working with Qmarkets. Our dedicated success manager Shiran has been a great help. She is super informative, professional, and patient, offering a full hand-held approach whenever we need it.” expressed Viki. “We’re seeing ROI in both savings and earnings, with ideas to improve processes, existing products and services, and even new businesses and markets. This is already delivering impact for us.”

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting innovation at a company with such a strong reputation for delivering it themselves… not only in Israel but extending to additional global Intel sites” Noam Danon, CEO and Co-Founder of Qmarkets states. “The fact that Intel have chosen Qmarkets for their strategic innovation activities at a critical time like this is a ringing endorsement for the quality of the service we offer.”
“Going forward we’re aiming to implement this tool across the workforce of all Intel groups that maintain a significant presence in Israel.” Said Viki. “However, we’re not only using the platform to gather solutions, but also to help us map out our obstacles.”
